When trying to configure my distributor, I received the following error.."SQL Server Agent on "server" currently used the system account, which causes replication between servers to fail."
Can someone tell me why this is? I thought sa could do everything. I'm trying to replicate between two different servers on the same domain.
Also, what type of accounts do I need the agent to run on? A domain account that is part of the local admin group? Does the domain account need to be in the local admin on both servers? What is the best way to set this up?

Hello!
You have to associate an account (differente from the local system account)!!
Go to Control Panel -> Admin Tools -> Services
Search for SQLSERVER and SQLSERVERAGENT. In both, go to Properties, choose the tab Start Session.
There you probably have Local System Account, change it to indicate one account.
You should use an account that belongs to administrators.
I hope this helps
