Which is the best way?

  • We are using different types of join operation and as well as

    using correlated queries also..

    What is the difference between them?

    Which is the best way to fetch the data's from the database>..

    Tell me Clearly..

    Thanks in advance...

  • There's no set 'best way'.

    Try the join, examine your query's execution plan - try your correlated subquery - and compare the execution plan.

    Pick the best plan. Note sometimes you may find SQL Server has the same execution plan for both querys.

  • Is it homework, a test, of a job interview? ALL of that information is in Books Online. I recommend you spend a bit of time there. Hope that was clear enough. 😉

    RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
    First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
    ________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

    Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
