Hi,
Due to some internal restrictions (large history), we are still using SQL Server 2005, this week I have the good news, that we could **analyse** if possible to migrate to SQL Server 2008, our first duty is test our environment and if everything is ok, and everybody is happy, look for approval of the needed budget.
Please, could you advise me, for start where could I download a version of this product, we are not interested in SQL Server 2012 yet, we are only interested to test our environment in a more updated version of SQL Server.
Thanks for your response:w00t:

I'm not sure about this, but you should think of migrating to 2012 for licensing issues. If Microsoft has removed the option to download it, it's very possible that it has removed the option to buy licenses as well.

Pretty sure you have to be on 2008 R2 or later in order to be on a supported version.
The link below seems to be functional (assuming you sign in):

Your lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on my part...unless you're my manager...or a director and above...or a really loud-spoken end-user..All right - what was my emergency again?

Dear colleagues,
Thanks for your response,
Excuse me, if you could find this question as silly and perhaps is a road that you walked ago, but
Where also I could find information about technical differences between sql server 2005 and sql server most recent editions.
Thanks for your patience

for that i think you'll have to search and read a bit for yourself: it's far to much for a forum post to highlight for you.
