Where to install Reporting Services

    I am pretty new to SQL 2005 so please bear with me if I ask a dumb question, we have installed SQL 2005 Database engine on a server and need to install Reporting Services on a separate server, Can we do that?

    How can we utilize reporting services if we want to generate reports from SQL 2005? should we install reporting services on separate macince and make this server as reporting server?

    Be sure you read the license agreement.  If I remember correctly, if you install Reporting Services on a machine other than the one where you installed SQL Server 2005, you will need to purchase an addional SQL Server 2005 license.

    Also, you need to install SSRS on a system running IIS.
