Hi,
I'm installing SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM and DO NOT want to install any SQL Server related components in OS drive i.e C drive.
So while installing, I noticed that the support files are installed but it did not give any option where to install?
Are these support files will be installed on OS drive (C)?
Can we control the installation path for support files?

Pretty sure these go to the C drive.
It is not possible to prevent some components going to the C drive, some will no matter what you do.

It would be appreciated if you provide the components that install on C drive no matter what we do? Because, my system asking me NOT to install any SQL Server related components on C drive::w00t::w00t:
thanks

tell them it can't be done, SQL does not work like that.
There are registry updates obviously and various bits of the shared tools plus the log files created during the install

The Support files are getting installed on C Drive only.
I have done 2 installation to verify this.
If you are installing SQL 2nd time on the same node, the support files options is greyed out.
