I need to regularly check on the size of the database and transaction logs but I can't find Taskpad in SSMS! Has any one any idea where it is?

We don't have task pad in SSMs. We have to use SP_helpdb it will give the size of all the dabases. if you want further details then pass individual database to this SP.

I'm using 2k5 at sp2... and there's no "Summary" selection in the "View" menu... has anyone actually tried this?

I've noticed that they keep removing shortcuts as well (although I haven't gone to see if they're addable...), such as CTL + B in SQL 7 and 2000 to size the results pane, and CTL + SHIFT + L for lower case.

I belive it was changed in SP2.
Right click on the database, select Reports, Standard Reports.
The details are there albeit in several reports
Far away is close at hand in the images of elsewhere.

Heh... and yet another useful, very well documented feature bites the dust.
Thanks, David.
