"Only two things come out of Lacrosse Wisconsin, steers and..........beers". What were you expecting? And, I don't even know if beer is produced there anymore.
Myself, Chicago, by way of North Carolina around the time I was 5 years old.

Either or both of them can be disputed but I'll bow out and let you have your say. After all, it's what we believe in that matters!

I'm from Faribault, MN but work for a company based in London Ontario. The USA location is actually farther north than the Canada location.

Hamilton, Ontario, Canada . . . Born & raised!I'm not a lumberjack, or a Furtrader,
and I don't live in an igloo, or eat blubber or own a dogsled.
And I don't know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada,
(although I'm certain they're really, really nice.)
I have a prime minister... not a president,
I speak English and French, not American
and I pronounce it About, not A-boot.
I can proudly sew my country's flag on my backpack,
I believe in peacekeeping, not policing,
diversity not assimilation,
and that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal.
A toque is a hat,
a chesterfield is a couch,
and it IS pronounced Zed,
not Zee... ZED!!
Canada is the 2nd largest land mass,
the 1st nation of hockey,
and the best part of North America.
My name is Mark...
and...I......AM......CANADIAN!
Thank you.

Under the "given circumstances" (XXI. Olympic Winter Games just started in Vancouver) I would consider it as being a result of the olympic hype...
Other than that: anybody that claims his country to be "the best" is a bit over the top on an international forum, I think.
