Hi,
I created a simple cube by following exactly the same steps as mentioned in the below link.
http://www.accelebrate.com/sql_training/PDF/SSAS_tutorial.pdf"> http://www.accelebrate.com/sql_training/PDF/SSAS_tutorial.pdf
Everything works fine and cube got deployed successfully as well. The problem is when I browse it.
When I right clink on the cube and "Browse", the screen goes into "Not Responding". Looks as if it's stuck.
Is it normal ?. How long will I have to wait for the browser to open for the above cube to open ?. Or is there any other settings that I need to do ?.
Can anyone help me please...
Edited ==> It's SQL Server 2005 with SP4. Windows XP professional (32 bit, SP3)
Thanks in advance.

Everything's done.. but no luck. What else could be the problem ?
I saw many people posted the same issue on different forums. But nowhere the proper solution is given.
Dou want me to give any further details of the cube ? Everthing gets completed successfully (proces... deploy...), but only the browser is not opening.
Since 3 days I am strugglinh with this now.
Missed...... I have MS Office 2007 installed in my PC. Does it make any difference ?
Thanks for the response.

No.
Do you have permissions to browse the cube?
Do you have calculations in your cube (MDX)?

I am using windows authentication and my id has "Sysadmin" role.
Do we need to create/assign any roles or rights in Analysis Service. ?

Thanks a lot.

When you installed SSAS, did you include yourself as Administrator.
SSAS Administrator <> database administrator

Log in into SSAS using Management Studio. Right click on the server, select Properties and look at the security tab.

Nothing was there in security tab. I added my login there and am able to BROWSE in management studio now. Thanks a ton.
In visual studio, it still doesn't open. Do I need to recreate the cube ?
Thanks again.

It opened as expected.
I placed some of the fields in rows and some amount field in Totals.
When I was placing the fields in Columns, it got hung. When I added the first field it shows the "Totals" properly. After that the same problem again... "Loading.............". both in Visual studio and SSMS.
Anyway, I will scrap everything and create a new project right from the beginning.
Let me check.
Thanks.
