when an users permissions are altered and he has been granted view definition permission for objects when does it take effect?
If the user is logged on while the permissions were granted does he have to disconnect and reconnect back for the permissions to come effect?

Is the user connecting through an application?
Not 100% sure about connecting from application, but I don't think the user needs to reconnect
To confirm, I tried now through SSMS and the user doesn't not need to re login. The current session it self was able to see the newly assigned permission.
