Hi hope someone has a shortish answer, i am just trying to get to grips with sql 2005
I have a test server set up, with one user database on it that was essentially doing nothing as far as I know. At most there was a maintenance plan doing integrity checks.
So over a period of a few weeks the the transaction grows to 5gb. I didn't have any backups running so I sort of know thats why it grew but what transactions would have been taking place to cause this on a db that is just sitting there?
thanks
Paul

Perhaps your maintenance plan was doing some reindexing? If so then that's a logged change to your data causing the transaction log to grow.

That makes sense,I think it was reindexing, I have since deleted the plan anyway so can't be sure but that figures.
Thankyou
Paul
