As I understand, Microsoft backs up CosmosDB similar to Azure SQL. How far back do these backups go? Does Microsoft offer point in time recovery?

Only the last two backups are stored - which by default would be 8 hours:
Online backup and on-demand data restore in Azure Cosmos DB
There is no point in time restore - the last I read it's "on their radar". Haven't seen any updates since:
