What is that fixed installation path for Report Manager??

  • Hi,

    From BOL..

The directory location that you select during the installation determines the location of the components and various libraries. However, certain components, such as the Reporting Services Report Manager, have a fixed path

    .

What is that fixed installation path for Report Manager??

I have selected D:\Microsoft SQL Server, while installing SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services and the installation is successful.

After the installation I can see the below folders in the path D:\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\Reporting Services

    1. Logfiles

    2. Report Manager

    3. Report Server

    4. RSTempFiles

So, Is my Reporting services installation correct?

  • Looks ok, is reporting services working ok?

  • Its working fine But I want to know What is that fixed installation path for Report Manager??

  • I've seen Reporting service come under Drive:\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services

    on more than one ocassion...

Folders LogFiles, ReportManager, ReportServer and RSTempFiles comes under this...

I believe when you install SQL Server and related components Reporting service comes under MSSQL.3

    Sanz
  • Generally its "Drive:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\ReportManager\Home.aspx"

    Generally its "Drive:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\ReportManager\Home.aspx"

Nope, MSSQL.(number) is dependent on the components that are being installed and the order in which they are installed

If you are using SQL 2008 Reporting services, the path will look something like this

    Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services

    you are right. MSSQL.(number) differs.

I had forgotten to mention it.
