SSIS stands for SQL Server Integration Services.
It is an ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) tool.
You can create SSIP packages using BIDS (Business Intelligent Development Studio)

It is the replacement for DTS in SQL 2005 and higher. It is an ETL tool.
