what is DQS ?

    I am trying to upgrade my 2008 sql server to sql 2014 with windows upgrade to 2012. Just came to know that we are on 2003 Active directory and it doesn't support windows 2012R2. How this service is useful? i tried to read msdn docs but couldn't get much out of it.

    If applicable, yes, often an overkill!
