  Hi,

  I read many times in this forum IO errors are very critical in Sql server. What is the meaning of an IO error in Sql server? What are the things we need to consider to aviod IO errors?

  IO error means Input Output error. There can be many reasons for this error. However when a IO is pending for more than 15 seconds or more... then sql server logs an IO error.

  This can also occur if u have faulty hardware or bad sectors in your hardisk.
