  • MS should have included Merge also.

  • The response to the bug report simply says this is 'by design'. It would be useful to know why this design decision was taken and whether it should be reviewed, since I, like most people, would expect a multiple row insert, whether the result of INSERT or MERGE, to behave the same way.

    Of course, since 2k8 is already released it's possible that applications already exist which rely on this behaviour, but personnally I'd be surprised.

  • Interesting thing from MS. May be they will rectify this to include merge latter.
