  • Hi All,

Can anyone give me an example of a defferred transaction to understand it better?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Peform a restore, get an I/O error at some point. Part of the IO error contains a set of operations needed to complete a transaction. The completion of the transaction is deferred.

If you perform a log backup while a full backup is running, the clearing of the log (marking backed up portions as inactive), is deferred from the log backup until the full completes.
