What are the Edition requirements for implementing a cluster?

  We would like to do the following:

  - have 2 servers, each with an instance of SQL Server 2005

  - have both servers mirroring each other and be live, ready to handle transactional duties

  - have both servers appear as 1 server, connected to by our application, using a single connection string

  My boss is concerned that we might need Enterprise Edition on each box to do this, while I think it can be done with Standard Edition on each box. Both of us have Googled inconclusively.

  Can somebody here shed some light on whether this configuration could be done using Standard Edition?
