What are differences between [Table Properties -> Groups] and [Details Grouping...]

    I am new to SSRS and very confused by [Table Properties -> Groups] and [Details Grouping...]. Aren't both of them trying to create groups on the table data?

    Could some experts here help me understand them?

    The details grouping is exactly as it says... the grouping of the details. The details means the row in the middle of the table (look to the right of the table when a cell or row is selected), it is represented by three horizontal lines.

    Table Properties > Groups is the higher levels of grouping that apply before the details. Add some new groups and you will see these appear in the table with number header and footer rows.

    Does this make sense?
