So my google-fu may be lacking but I have a security audit questionnaire I am filling out and they asked what algorithm is sued to create the encryption key for SSRS reports and I can't find it anywhere.
Can anyone help me out on this?
Thanks!

Read this: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms188357.aspx
If that does not help, search Books Online.

I don't see the documentation anywhere, but I've asked MS for clarification.
It does say symmetric key, which in this day and age I'd hope would be AES, preferably 512. However, SSRS has been around a long time, and not sure when encryption was added. If it was early on, 2000-era, then this could be DES, or likely Triple-DES.
Will post back if I hear.

From Microsoft, Triple-DES is the algorithm. I hope they update BOL soon.
