I can’t stand it anymore.
Using VS 2017/SSDT for SSIS development, when I start the VSTA script task editor, it doesn’t seem to remember that I’ve unpinned the Solution and Team explorer windows (which are normally docked to the right) and the toolbox windows which are docked on the left. These typically reopen every time I start the VSTA editor. Recently I had a Data Sources window open in another project, and THAT now opens undocked when VSTA is opened even though it's long since been closed in the parent VS program window.
I saved the desired layout in the VSTA editor, which can be restored from the Window | Apply Window Layout menu, but I don’t think that should be necessary. The main VS program keeps track of its layout and restores it when VS is started, but the VSTA editor does not restore its last window layout, nor does it use the parent VS layout.
This has been an ongoing thorn thru several Windows reinstalls. Is there a rhyme or reason behind this behavior, and can it be corrected?
