Visual Studio 2012 Keeping file locks

  • Hi All,

When running some packages in Visual Studio, if the package fails (normally because someone's changed the Excel Column headers again!! *facepalm*) Visual Studio has a habit of keeping the file locked for editting. As a result, when I go the correct the file to have it correct column headers I can't, because VS has it "open".

Is there anyway to get VS to close the file? Closing VS and opening again is really not what i want to do with a password protected project, that has quite a few files it is.

has anyone seen this behaviour before and managed to stop it?

    Thanks.

    Thom~

  • I certainly have faced this problem, but apart from restarting Visual studio anything else really didn't work..

Oddly enough many a times even restarting VS did not help..
