Visual Studio 2005, shipped with SQL 2005 developer, some component missing

  • I am new in SSIS,

and I am starting learning how to build some user interface.

But I have a problem: when I start file --> new project and the window open on the left there is the tree, with only:

    - Business Intelligence Projects

    - Other Project Types

               - Visual Studio Solutions

without Visual Basic, Visual C# and so on.

Visual Studio comes with SQL 2005 Server Developer.

My question is: how to set Visual Studio as complete.

    Thank

  • seems to me that there was also a "tools" component that had to be added... it was on disk 2 at one point; although that was early in the scheme of things... and my installs were done from downloads.  but this was where the templates were located, and MS played dumb when they were asked this simple question.  I'm not sure if it's the one you're asking; but it sure sounds like it is.

  • I run again setup for CD2, but I still get the same, without Visual Basic, C#,

any help will be very appreciated.

  • Sorry; but I don't know how to answer you further.  This was my first issue with SSIS and my first post that the MS development lead responded to... and he answered like I was a stupid jerk, and acted like there couldn't possibly be a problem.  I'm not sure how I finally resolved it... I am sure someone here can tell you how to get the templates for SSIS loaded though...

Sounds like MS still has a problem here.  Sorry I can't be more help.

    Thank-you,

  • Yes, I think so

I think there is some problem with installation, specially after having installed SP1.

Then I tried to unistall VS 2005, but some key in is not deleted and in the menu programs is still present, but the program deleted. When I try to install again VS 2005, SQL server 2005 informs that VS is already installed.

MS may be has some problem with installation and .msi

    Thank
