Hi all
I have created a SSIS Package with plenty of nice Control Flows, Data Flows, ...
I have built the package and tried to run the package by clicking on the Manifest file generated in the Deployment folder.
I get an error 80040154 concerning the COM class factory ...
I have done some digging around to find a solution and many people wrote that changing the Platform Target to x86 solved the problem.
My issue is that I cannot find where to set this option!
When I right-click on the top icon in the Solution Explorer, I have the following option in the drop-down menu:
- Build
- Rebuild
- Clean
- Add
- Debug
- Cut
- Paste
- Rename
- Properties
No option concerning the build configuration that some people were talking about on some forums.
When i select the Properties, I get Build, Deployment Utility and Debugging with a few options but nothing concerning the Platform Target.
Any idea anybody?

Sorry to reply to my own post but I have discovered that the desktop on which SQL Server was installed was a mixed between 32 and 64 bits.
I'm going to perform a fresh install and this will hopefully sort out my issues.

Just a little update concerning a reinstall of SQL Server 2005 in x64 instead of x32.
I perform a full uninstall before installing again but got an error message concerning some COM+ services still registered as x32.
I managed to bring up the COM+ application management application in Vista (sorry don't rememeber the command) and deleted the SQL Server application in there.
Following the delete, the installation went fine and my manifest file seems to work ok now.
However, I still haven't found a way to specify "any CPU" in the properties of my package. 🙁
