Hi All,
I am getting my mind around the use of smartphones for RS report delivery. I am using a Windows Mobile 6.1 phone with IE but the rendering engine makes the data region of the report so small its unusable. Does anyone have any any experience or can point me to a thread/site on how I can get the reports to render properly on this platform?
We are Using WM6.1 as is to be used in a factory with an aggressive environment, the only units robust enough are WM6.1 - android makers and (of course) iPhone avoid this market.
I was thinking of trying to make tiny copies of the reports in another RS folder but there must be a more elegant way than this.
Apologies if this topic has already been done to death but I havent been able to find any answers. 🙂
regards,
Craig Potter

I started, and participated in a lengthy discussion thread on LinkedIn about this topic exactly. Right now it seems that there is no best way to do this. The general thinking was develop your reports, make them more visual (graphs & charts more than tables), for a small screen.
Fortunately, the discussion caught the eye of an SSRS product manager at Microsoft. With any luck some of our concerns and comments will be worked into an update or future product soon.

Thanks for your reply. I think this is something the MS have overlooked, I cant help think they are forever playing catchup.

Further, one way suggested is to use a Terminal Server to deliver the reports. Therefore the TS does the rendering. Its a bit clunky but I guess thats the way I think I may implement (for now).
