Hi Guys,
I've several DTS packages running on SQL 2000 (SP3a) successfully, with logging enabled.
However I've noticed something that has us perplexed.
When a step fails in a package and you view the failed step in Logging Details it shows the failed step (large red cross), however if it's the FIRST failure (or the only failure in the package) the VIEW ERROR radio button remains greyed out - so you can't view the error.
I can view the second error (and so on) as the radio butto then becomes active.
I'm at a loss to explain this as the data is in the msdb package and step log tables.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
PK

Thanks for your response DAL - double clicking the error does absolutely nothing on the 1st error as the View Error button remains greyed out.
I have found out something though - the errors we get are because the package drops it's connection with the source database (due to backup). I can only guess that it's tied to that phenomenon somehow.
