Hi friends,
i would like to create some training for my collegues in which i would run some code into SQL Query analyzer and explain about code. I would like to know about some software which can record video of the screen and make video. It is something like making video by camcorder.
I know one that is adobe captivate but it is very slow when i run the video.
thanks,
vijay

I would recommend Camtasia Studio.
I created some sql videos with my team. To get an idea of what the videos would look like visit http://www.youtube.com/icsql.

We use Camtasia for the videos here. Works well.
Be sure you get a USB mic.

I haven't used USB mic... I am assuming you use that to clear the background and get better sound quality.

Yeah, sound card mics are finicky. If it's working for you, good, but we've found on a variety of machines that a USB mic just works better, easier to set up.

I have used CamStudio which is free and have uploaded videos to YouTube and also SoapBox and they have all turned out good. There is also the one from Microsoft that you can use called Community Clips.

I would consider using Jing, http://www.jingproject.com/, which is also from the company Techsmith. I used it on my last job and it is free and you can save the videos on your local machine or post them on their servers for web access. Obviously, it is not as verbose in what you can do as far as editing wise, but you can add sound.
If you don't need a full blown editing suite for your videos you can also use SnagIt by Techsmith also for $50 (US). But, there is a limitation to the file size for video in Snagit.
