Hi all,
How many versions of SQL server to MS currently support I heard that MS only support the 2 latest versions of any one product.
Does this mean that when the SQL version after 2008 comes in lets called 2011, does this mean MS won't support 2005 anymore?
thanks
Chris

You can see the levels of support here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;[ln];lifecycle. Use the Product Lifecycle Search at the bottom of the page to see the support dates for specific versions.

You got it essentially right. SQL Server 2000 support ended... in May I think. That's main stream support. You can still pay to get access to PSS. The same thing will be true in 2011 or whenever they decide to end support for 2005.

Apr 8 I think was the SQL 2K mainstream support end. They'll do security patches, but if you find bugs, you need a support agreement to get support.
Their plan is 2 versions, though right now it's 1.
