  I had a question posed to me today that I could not answer and could not explain - An installation of SQL 2000 reports as 8.00.194 on the Enterprise Manager database properties screen but responds with 8.00.760 (sp3a) when you query @@version.

  Is there something that needs to be refreshed here?  An obscure DBCC perhaps?

  EM uses xp_msver to rerieve some server metadata.

  See if xp_msver and @@version returns different results in QA ?
