New to SSIS.
If I create a xml configuration file and include the package variables in my packages, and later if the variable value changes, I change it in the design view for the variale value.
will the xml configuration file automatically pick up the change or I have to manually go to configuration file to change it there as well?
Thanks

If you're asking that when you update/change a variable's value in BIDS, will the associated xml config file be similarly updated, then no. If you update the variable within BIDS and run the package (assuming the xml config is available), the package will run with the config file's value, overriding the value you entered in BIDS just before you ran the package.
If you want the config file to pick up the new value, you either need to update the config file manually or re-export the configs to the same xml file.

...to change it there as well?
Not 'as well' - just change the config file and leave the BIDS version alone.
