I have a Utility Control Point setup with a dozen servers/instances. When the UCP works, I can see all instances and details. However, more often than not however, all of them are entirely grayed out with 'no data available'. Has anyone experienced this problem and if so, how have they resolved it. It must be local, since its all or nothing. I do not have troubles with an occasional instance not reporting. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Enrolling to a UCP enables a system collection set (Utility Information).
Look at the logs (right click on the collection set, view logs) and look for errors in the collect/upload operations.
If no error is showing, data might be there but not showing correctly. It can happen with clustered instances, when the instance is registered with its computer name instead of the virtual server name. See this post of mine[/url] for a fix.

All collections are running without errors. I do not have any clustering. I don't get it. Currently, every instance is showing up in UCP and I can dig into Storage Utilization details, etc. 10 minutes ago, nothing was available. In another few minutes, everything will be gone again.

Try to capture the statements issued by SSMS with Profiler.
Maybe it's a client thing and the parameters supplied by SSMS are wrong.
