I almost gave up then I spotted the difference in the report defintion line. It should be schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2003/10/reportdefinition instead of schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2003/01/reportdefinition. So I made the change then uploaded the rdl. It worked.
However I will keep using VS 2003 to edit the reports until we upgrade the report server. It seems to be more work for me if I use VS 2005.
Thank you.

Yes, it is a bit of useful info.
I only ran across it because we hired a new developer last year (I'll keep my opinion to myself...GRIN) But he thought he knew what he was doing and created a few reports, through them into production and DIDN'T TEST.
The customer then called our Director, and it was an OH SH$T we gotta fix this quick. I got to looking at the RDL's and noticed those were the only differences.
Happy to help, have a good day/night.

Great Tip, after I changed updated the file as specified, I was able to upload the report and report ran successfully.
Thanks, you saved me a lot of time
