Hey all,
I'm currently ripping down my local 2005 and installing 2008. Am I going to have issues using RS2008 and publishing to a 2005 server?
Thanks

Aw hell, doesn't look like it's gonna work: http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3631425&SiteID=1

They are correct, I just tried it.
You can keep VS2005 installed and install VS2008. The RS project types can remain on your machine and it works fine (I am doing that now).
Make sure you install in the correct order - installing VS2005 after VS2008 is pretty ugly.
I am also still having problems with the team foundation browsers conflicting when there are custom rules.

I still have VS2005 installed and when opening my report solution, I get the message "make sure the application for the project type (.rptproj) is installed". Will this resolve itself after I get SQL2008 installed?

No.
Re-install the BIDS portion from the SQL 2005 install first. This should fix the project type in Visual Studio.
Then, install the SQL 2008 tools.
This should also allow you to continue to connect to and modify Analysis Services 2005 databases - if you have any.

Perfect, thank you!
