So Steve, what is the benfit of being able to write python code that we can't execute correctly unless using notebooks. Is there a workaround to be able to execute other languages without notebooks? Thanks for the post

No benefit here I can see. I was experimenting, as I've had MS people ask me to use ADS for PoSh. I was curious how it worked, since I use VSCode for Python.
The marketplaces for ADS and VSCode are different. While you can sideload many VSCode extensions, I think in general, I'd not bother with ADS outside of SQL/postgreSQL/PoSh for authoring now.
I'm sad that they support notebooks, but not Python directly. Feels like an oversight.
