Hi,
We have requirement to migrate SQL SERVER 2000 master database to anther database server called Newserver via backup and restore option. After restoring the master database server name has been changed . But the master database try to bring online of all the user databases which was on the previous database server.
How to remove those entry from master databases after restoring on the another database to avoid that probelm ?
Is there anyother other solution otherthan dettach user database and then backup master and then attach user databases sequence ?
Advise best practise on this migration.

are you moving a SQL2000 master database to a SQL2008 server? or is it going 2000 to 2000?
what is your goal in moving the master database? is it to replace the existing 2000 server with new hardware?
