  In the SQL Server Configuration Manager there is an option to activate or force 'Extended ProtectionÄ.This function has been available since Windows 2008R2 or SQL Server 20008R2. I would be interested to know if this option is used or if it makes sense (in a Windows environment without Linux computers).

  What is the reasoning behind not using this function?
