Not sure if this is a dumb question. Excuse me. But i am curious to know as i need to provide a POC
We have a Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 with Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU with Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) Tablet PC with 1 GB RAM.
Can we install SQLServer 2008 on this Tablet. If not SQLServer, is there any other database that can be installed on Tablet ?
If not Samsung, is there any other brand like Apple, Dell which can support datbase installation ?
If not, can we expect such advancements in near future.
Thanks.

Answer: No.
If you had a Windows 7 Slate or Windows 7 Tablet, maybe then yes.
There are other SQL friendly apps in the Android Market that will enable you to connect to a SQL server Instance, but not SSMS as we know it.

Nuts. I was hoping one of you knew the answer to this. I wanted to put SQL Server on my Thrive.

SQL Server Compact Edition should run on any Windows OS device (windows phone or any tablet with windows on it), I highly doubt we'll ever see SQL Server running on Android or iOS, it's just too dependant on the Windows OS (there's no SQL Server for Mac or *nix).
What I do on my iPad (when I have internet access) is use TeamViewer to remote back to my desktop at home, which has full SQL Server and a hell of a lot more processing power and memory than my iPad does
