Hello,
Can anyone tell me how can i create one linked server between one SQL Server 2005 and one SQL Server 2000.
The point is that when i've tried to create de linked server one error appears to me (see .msg that i attached on this post) and can you tell me why when i tried to create the linked server i check that the provider will be Microsoft OLE DB PROVIDER FOR SQL Server and when the error appears tell me that "Provider SQLNCLI....." 🙁

Unable to see error message.
Please explain the error you are receiving and direction of linked server you are trying to configure.

Hi,
Couple questions:
1. What service pack level do you have on SQL 2K and SQL 2K5?
2. What protocols are enabled on the SQL 2K5 server

Do you have remote connections turned on in the server.

The SP in the SQL 2005 is SP2.
