URGENT HELP : SQL Server 7.0 on Windows 2000 Installation Problems

  • Hi,

I am trying to install SQL Server 7.0 on Windows 2000 Server (Client's Server). I am connecting to the server using Terminal Service Client. Everytime I try, I am getting error soon after I see "starting service"...

Can someone please me? Is there any work around available?

Note: We cannot get Netmeeting installed on this machine, since this is a very restricted environment. We are working from off-site location using terminal services. I don't think it matters, but to make things complicated, this is a New VMWare Server.

    Thanks in Advance.

  • Terminal Services is unlikely to provide the level of access you need to the files and registry (i.e. probably WONT WORK)

Your only hope here is to start the install from the Control Panel Add/Remove programs. If you are already doing this - bad luck.

You might be able to install VNC and use that to connect. It gets you to the real console unlike terminal server.

The systems fine with no users loggged in. Can we keep it that way ?br>
