I want to import data from sql 2008 to excel 2007. The excel file should have month and year and also want to keep the data type same as in sql..

i tried but it does not allow to store as actual datatype but taking as unicode string..

Excel does not have as many data types as SQL Server so won't be able to store most of them without conversion.
This article shows how they are mapped.

save it as a SSIS package and try to change the column types in the excel destination properties.

One more option you may choose is Importing the SQL data from Excel via data connection option . You can convert the query the way you want .

i tried it worked now.. but i want to move the file to network in particular location ..
