Hello,
I am looking/hearing for some information/experiences in regards to upgrading and migrating SSRS from SQL 2005 to SQL 2014. I am about to undertake such a venture, I have read a few MS articles on how to upgrade the database engine (though these related to 2012, but I assume there is not much difference),
here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2796721#/en-us/kb/2796721
Does the above issue going from 2005 to 2012 exist going from 2005 to 2014?
and here https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-AU/library/ms143724(v=sql.120).aspx
I will run the System Configuration Checker
Run the Upgrade advisor on the SSRS 2005 installation
Backup the Key
Back up the RS DB and config files
I wondered if anybody out there had done the same? Did you do it differently to that of the Microsoft articles, and what kind of issues did you encounter on your way?
I am sure the answers you give will help more people than just myself, this is a native SSRS upgrade and migration that I am doing.
Thank you, I look forward to reading about people experiences.
Regards,
D.

Developed an older BI system on 2005/2008 but have started from scratch on 2014.
There will be very little if any difference between 2012 and 2014, so whatever is established for 2012 should apply to 2014.
The Microsoft recommendations regarding upgrade from 2005 should suffice

Thank you.

Are you planning on an in-place upgrade or a migration to a new instance? The reason I ask is because 2005 > 2014 might not be supported as a direct in-place upgrade. If that was the case you might have to upgrade to another version, like 2012 and then upgrade again to 2014.
