I've read in various places that it is not a good idea to do an in-place upgrade of a SQL 2008 R2 cluster to SQL 2014 and that it would be less risky to build out a new SQL 2014 cluster and migrate the databases manually. I need to get an official word/recommendation for this from a Microsoft support rep. Do I have to open a paid support incident for this? Or are there are official statements out there somewhere? Thanks.
