Upgrading SQL 2000 Standard to Enterprise

    Hi Guys,

     

    I am currently running SQL 2000 SP3 standard edition, we want to migrate to SQL 2000 SP3 Enterprise edition. It looks like a very easy deal, just put in the installation CD and it is done.

     

    Is there any pitfalls which I need to be aware of.

    Any help on this will be highly appreciated.

    In my experience, it was less painfull to start from scratch rather than do an upgrade.

    Why do say so.

     

    Infact yesterday I tried on the beta server and in less than 10 minutes my upgrade was over. The only problem i faced was that even though I choose the option of upgrade the installation forces me to select atleast some components, and the only thing which I can pick is some searches.

     

    Other than that, it was fast and easy, also it retained the Service pack levels, so that is a big plus.
