  Hi, am trying to update 6.5 to 7.0 using the Switch - Upgrade Wizard, but keep getting @@servername for your export server is invalid. I have used sp_addserver and can see the server through sp_helpserver, have even dropped and reconnected.

  From the export side I have made the connection, can even stop and start the remote server.

  What else can I do???

  Denis,

  Be sure that you have applied the latest service pack for SQL 6.5. I think that was 5a. Be sure to check this out. Also look in BOL for the requirements for performing this upgrade.

  Hi BK,

  Have tried with sp5a and tried all configurations of sp_addserver i.e. making the remote server the primary server. Have been through BOL totally? Am totally lost now.

  Any further thoughts?
