Upgradeadvisor error

    Hi,

    I am planning to upgrade from SQL 2000 SP4 and launched the Upgrade advisor Wizard. I get an error message : Object reference not set to an instance of an object. [UpgradeAdvisorWizard].

    It happens at the point it's loading the database list to control. It begins to search then displays this error message before finishing.

    I think that I have seen this before and it was down to permissions, you need to be a sysadmin and potentiolly a local admin on the server the instance resides on, check the doco on upgrade advisor.

    Hi,

    thanks for your answer. I'll check the doc but I don't think it's a rights issue as I'm logged in as local Windows Administrator and use the sa logon for SQL server.
