Somehow, I have a "trial edition" of SQL Server 2008 R2 on my machine. I'm not sure how I did that, but it was not intentional, as I'm a MSDN subscriber, and I also have a license for "Developer Edition". Ok, fair enough, my mistake. Suddenly, and without warning, this trial edition apparently expired, and stopped working. I can even live with that, once again, fair enough, but there doesn't seem to be a clear upgrade path. Apparently, my only options are to uninstall/re-install the correct version. I can't figure out how to do that without losing my existing "databi" (yes, I invented that word to mean the plural of "database").
How do I get out of this mess?? I'll tell you, this is really no way to treat potential customers. Imagine how frustrated a potential customer would be when they can't figure out how to preserve the data they created with the trial edition! Seems like a very good way to send people straight over to MySQL out of spite and frustration. I'm going to have to complain about this strategy over on Microsoft somewhere.
Anybody have an easy out for me?
Thanks!

This ALMOST works, but unfortunately, the installer will not allow me to upgrade the instance. Probably because it's already on the correct "version". I need to upgrade the "edition" NOT the version, and I can't see any way to do that from the installer.
I appreciate the help. Any other ideas?
