Upgrade to or install 2005?

    Hi all, We just finish upgrading MSSQL2000 to MSSQL2005 and noticed that now SQL Server reports that it is still 8.0.760. ??

    Isn't it supposed to be 9.0.1187?

    So does this mean it is not a true sql2005? will all the new feature of sql2005 work? Is it better to install new and restore the DB or upgrade?

    Did you install a named instance of SQL Server 2005?

    It's possible to install SQL Server 2005 in a side-by-side installation with SQL Server 2005. Check the "services" in control panel to see how many SQL Server instances you have installed.
