successfully done upgrade sql 2005 to sql 2008 r2, now the same server both database is running i want to remove the sql 2005 from the window server.
how to remove the sql server 2005 DB.

Did you choose a different installation directory?
Did you try to uninstall it via Programs and features? (Start -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> SQL Server 2005 -> uninstall)

i did not try to uninstall from control panel, upgrade done on the same directory. successfully running both sql sever DB instance.now i want to remove sql server 2005.

If you installed explicitly in the same directy, having same instance name, the best thing would be to just disable the 2005 services.
If anybody has a diffrent opinion bout this. Please correct me!
