I would like to upgrade a small application SQl server from SQL 2008 to 2012. This server is used to host databases for applications of several different vendors. They are all small application, so we put them on the same SQl server.
Since the vendors are different, and I tried to contact each application user if their database support SQL server 2012, I found answers for all the databases except one.
This one is called PrinterManager. And I checked on line it seems it supports only up to 2008.
Because it was installed on year of 2010.
Now I got this blocker, but I still want to upgrade the server to SQL 2012.
Is that possible the application still works even it does not say it supports 2012?
Thanks,

It is possible for the application to still work, but I believe you are saying the vendor won't support you. I assume the vendor had a good reason to say that to you. If the vendor said they will not support you, what will you do if the application does not work? For example, what will your company do if the application returns incorrect results or creates a security leak, but your company only discovers the incorrect results (or the security leak) after 5 years? Is your company willing to accept unknown risks?
