Greetings,
Found when upgrading a SQL Server 7.0 server to SQL Server 2000 that the "Upgrade" option was not available.
The server started out as a 6.5 configuration and was upgraded to 7.0. Not sure if that is the issue but it is definitely something I suspect. Couldn't find any MS documentation on this but I may not be searching correctly.?.?
Has anyone else run across this and if so, is there a way around it. I don't mind doing the uninstall and reinstall but it would be nice to have the upgrade option.
Thanks in advance for the help.
David

I moved a server from 6.5 to 7.0 to 2K, never had your issue...luckily! Sorry that doesn't help much.

It gives me hope that it can be worked around. Thanks Andy!

I didn't have any problems. Maybe you should try reinstalling, if you don't mind.

Figured it out. I am at a new company and my old tools are gone including installation CD's. Install that was provided to me was a Developer Edition Install which would not allow the upgrade of a SQL Server 7.0 Standard Edition.
Use right CD's and all works well. Thanks for the responses!!!
